Fermented products to defend immunity
Yogurt, kefir milk, kombucha, sauerkraut… all fermented products, rich in probiotic bacteria that will feed the microbiota, are good for many things, including strengthening immunity. Perfect to participate in the fight against allergies.
An Italian study showed that a group of people prone to hay fever who took 500 ml of yogurt per day for 4 months had not only to lower histamine levels than those who only took skimmed milk at the same frequency but also less severe allergic symptoms.
Other studies have shown that children whose mothers had consumed a lot of fermented products during pregnancy were less prone to allergies as they grew up.
Do as in the Italian study: eat at least 1/2 litre of yoghurt or fermented food every day, before and during the critical period. Lactic ferments such as Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium and Bacillus clausii are the most recommended.
